Preorder Nintendo 3DS

Preorder Nintendo 3DS Online

Great news! You can now preorder the Nintendo 3DS from Amazon for $249.99.

Before you do preorder the Nintendo 3DS, I’m pretty sure you are wondering IF you should pre-order a Nintendo 3DS? In other words, is the 3DS even worth preordering? Let’s see.

For the people who were able to personally see, touch and play with the machine, they were AMAZED. And these are people who are NOT easy to please. I mean, these are people who play games everyday, who review games as a day-job so creating a buzz like this even for Nintendo is already a feat as itself, but it doesn’t end there. Let’s get down to the details with a short 3DS review.

Details About the Nintendo 3DS, So Far:

  • Great portable size and approximately 8 ounces. (light!)
  • 3.53-inch Widescreen LCD display for the top screen which can display 3D visuals without the 3D glasses.
  • 3.02 inch LCD Touchscreen for the bottom screen with 320×240 resolution.
  • 3 Cameras. One inner camera and two outer camera. (Able to do 3D video chat)
  • 3DS Game card is a maximum of 2Gig
  • Great Wi-Fi connection for multiplayer
  • A possibility of 3G Connectivity on the go (Awesome if true)
  • New analog controller which they call the “Slide Pad”
  • Insanely powerful Processing power! It’s even better than the PSP and rumored to be more powerful than the Wii!

It would work like this!

Looking through these 3DS specifications alone is already giving me goosebumps and makes me want to preorder this baby. But we haven’t gone to the juicy parts yet. I think the major reason why I would want to buy and preorder the 3DS is the incredible support of 3rd party games.

I mean, all the major game developers are IMPRESSED and are all very excited to jump on board and create a game for the 3DS. Famed video game developer Hideo Kojima is on board and is making a Metal Gear Solid 3D. Capcom is also making an awesome Resident Evil Revelations for the 3DS. Square Enix have announced that they are making a Kingdom Hearts game for the 3DS. Well, not to mention all the Mario games that’s coming to the 3DS. Plus to top it all off, they are making a remake of The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time for the 3DS. If those 3DS games don’t excite you, I don’t what will.

Is the Nintendo 3DS Worth Buying?

While it won’t be released until March 2011, there are plenty of reviews of the system that all point to one central thought. The boys at Nintendo got it right with this version. All of the improvements that people for years have been demanding are finally in one central location.

The graphics are way better than they previously had been. There were some reports that it’s even better than the Wii and as the screenshots show, it’s totally better than the PSP. The controls are not as clumsy for a person to use and they included the new Analog controller which they call the “Slide Pad”. This was a problem before that many users complained about to the maker saying that it was not natural to play games with.

Bottom Line for the 3DS

So bottom line for the Nintendo? They have really outdone themselves yet again. Although, I still cannot say that this device is perfect because the pricing and final details have yet to be announced but looking at the line up of games, it’s processing power and it’s features, I can say it’s almost close.

This is the first time I already personally preordered a nintendo 3DS myself. After taking the world by storm with the very innovative Wii, they’re doing it again with the Nintendo 3DS. I think it’s pretty safe to say that the console wars is over and Nintendo has won hands down.

So what are you waiting for? Preorder it now from Amazon before we experience another shortage like we did from the Nintendo Wii. You definitely don’t want to pay double or triple the price from those hoarders in eBay.

Alternatively, you can check out the list of games and availability of the Nintendo 3DS in Amazon. There are also 3DS games that are available for preorder as of the moment.

If you’re up for it, you can also check out our indepth 3DS review. I’ve already preordered my Nintendo 3DS from Amazon. It’s going to be tricky as they will only ship 1.5 million units all across the US and Europe so you better pre-order one now.

I’m really looking forward to “seeing” the 3DS, but “not buying” it. It seems they missed out in the info above that they change the hardware as soon as the first one comes out.

Bought the original DS when it first came out, then they came out with DSlite. Bought the DSlite then they came out with the DSi, didn’t get that, but they decided to get the DSiXL anyways. Didn’t buy that either, now the 3Ds is coming out.

Wondering what I should do? Repeat what I’ve been doing, or is it time to follow trend again?

*The way they come out with all this hardware is making me feel like the instant I buy their stuff it already becomes yesterday’s news. Can’t they make a system that sticks like they use to. Gameboy Advance and Original Gameboy days…..I miss you. Even the change from Advance to SP I didn’t mind as much, why? Because the screen didn’t get that much brighter and the graphics didn’t change. *and they didn’t add a camera to it.

Nintendo is saying that they won’t be releasing any 3DSi anytime soon though and I personally don’t think they would upgrade this any time soon.

They didn’t just upgrade with a Wii2 with the Wii. Frankly – everything I need seems to be already on the Nintendo 3DS version 1. So I don’t need any upgrades.

Also – Nintendo is NOT Apple. LOL
